I was born and raised in Northern New Jersey where I currently reside. At the age of 17 I borrowed my mother's Canon AE-1 camera and with the first roll of film, I had an accident published in the local paper. Through the years I have been a volunteer EMT, Firefighter, and currently work as a Sergeant for a Northern NJ Police Department. Although I love every minute of my work, my passion has been photography and developing my skills.
Today, I have been published in over 1,000 printed issues including the New York Times, New York Post, Daily News, The Bergen Record, The Star Ledger, Fire News Newspaper, Fire Rescue Magazine, Firehouse Magazine, and many many more.
I am fortunate enough to be a World Trade Center Survivor and even have my work pubished in the September 11th Photo Project which was done by A&E Television.
With years of work in the emergency services, I have broadened my skills and horizions. I do landscapes, places, people, portraits, sports, and corporate work. With over tens of thousands of hits to my websites on a monthly basis, it is the support of my viewers, clients, and admirers that keeps me motivated.
I truly appreciate the time you took to not only read this but view my work. I can no express my gratitude enough.
Thank you and stay well,
Michael J. Coppola
